• Use on electric range tops to help prevent bakeware from cracking
• Keeps the bakeware from direct contact with the stove top electric elements
• Also can be used on either gas or electric range tops to diffuse the heat and help maintain an even, low or moderate cooking temperature 
• Very handy for certain types of cooking, especially slow cooking
• Use only with low or medium heat
• Great for canning - helps to prevent scorching and sticking  
• Please note that the wood handle is not permanently attached and can be removed by just pulling it off the metal part
• You might think the handle is kind of loose, and that is correct, it is loosely attached
• Quality is fair - this may be the least expensive heat diffuser on the market.
